Medical Rehabilitation
Access to healthcare is a basic human right, yet the Deaf community in Somalia has long faced exclusion from essential medical services. Barriers in communication, lack of specialized facilities, and limited public awareness have left many without proper treatment.
SONAD advocates for equal access to medical and rehabilitation services. Our work focuses on:
Providing free healthcare services to Deaf individuals.
Addressing preventable causes of deafness, such as malaria.
Raising awareness among health professionals about the needs of Deaf patients.
Building partnerships to ensure no Deaf person is left behind in medical care.
Through these efforts, SONAD is reducing health inequalities and ensuring the Deaf community receives the care and dignity they deserve.
