25 civil society representatives participated in a meeting facilitated by the United Nations Transition Mission in Somalia (UNTMIS) in Mogadishu, where they discussed the United Nations’ Country Assessment Program and the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework. These two programs are central to the United Nations’ future development support for Somalia, especially in relation to the National Change Plan.
During the meeting, participants emphasized the importance of active civil society engagement in the planning process for the United Nations’ programs in Somalia. SONAD was proud to participate in this important dialogue, contributing insights into the needs and perspectives of the deaf community, and advocating for their inclusion in the country’s development frameworks.
